Julia Losoya is currently a Parent Family Liaison at Washington Elementary School. She was born and raised in the East Side. She graduated from Sam Houston High School where she was a talented volleyball player. Before her position at Washington Elementary School, she worked part-time with San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) as a cafeteria chef at Washington Elementary and Wheatley Middle School. In pursuit of her career, she left the kitchen and became a substitute teacher and a counselor clerk at Washington Elementary. She has worked in SAISD for a total of 11 years. Julia is a single parent to her four children. She believes that her family is her greatest influence and motivation. Julia strives to embody determination and set a positive example of selflessness for her children. Julia was born and raised in East Side and she is passionate about the people in her community. She works with Eastside Promise Neighborhood on various initiatives to help the neighborhood flourish. Her ability to create relationships with members of the community is a key factor for why she is seen as such a promising person in the neighborhood. One of the changes she is most excited about is the neighborhood clean-up. She likes to see members of the community taking good care of the neighborhood she so passionately believes in. She wants to continue to further her career and give back to the community that she believes gave her so much. It is clear that Julia is one of the many members of the community to grow and stay in the neighborhood.
